Service areas

The service area is all of Volusia County and Palm Coast. Palm Coast is in Flagler County. We did not write a separate page for every Volusia town, because a page that only swaps the city name is not useful. The eight below have their own housing, weather, and permit offices. The others are covered from here.

Also in the service area

These places are served. They do not have their own URL because we would be repeating the county page with a new title.

Holly Hill

A small mainland city between Daytona and Ormond, mostly mid-century houses. Permits are the city’s, not Daytona’s.

South Daytona

Compact and mostly mainland, along the river south of Daytona Beach. Older residential streets, its own building department.

Daytona Beach Shores

Almost entirely the peninsula: condos and mid-rise buildings in heavy salt air. The city permits its own addresses. Condo common areas are the association’s.

Ponce Inlet

A small town at the inlet. Marine exposure is as hard as anywhere in the county. The town has its own permits. We do not claim a shop there.

Oak Hill

Southern Volusia, on the lagoon, small and older. County or city jurisdiction depends on the parcel. Ask before you file.

Orange City

Inland, near Blue Spring, a mix of older houses and later growth. Often discussed alongside DeLand for utility and age, and still its own permit office.

DeBary

Inland and growing, near I-4. Newer relative to Deltona’s original sections. Confirm the utility. The city permits inside its limits.

Lake Helen

A small inland city beside DeLand, with older houses and large lots. Its own building rules. Not a branch of ours.

Pierson

Far northwest Volusia, rural, fern country. Travel is real. The electrical is houses and agricultural outbuildings, not beach equipment. Confirm who permits the parcel.

Ormond-by-the-Sea and other unincorporated areas

If you are outside a city limit, including much of Ormond-by-the-Sea and spots such as Samsula, the permit is Volusia County’s. New Smyrna Beach’s building page publishes the county building line as (386) 626-6591 and points unincorporated work to the county. Start at volusia.org if that deep link moves.

Unincorporated Volusia is permitted by the county. New Smyrna Beach’s building division publishes the county building number as (386) 626-6591. Start at volusia.org if you need the current department page. We do not publish a county office address we have not confirmed.
