What this usually is
A repair visit is diagnosis first. The symptom is rarely the whole story. A breaker that trips can be a tired breaker, a loose connection, a failing appliance, or a circuit that was asked to carry a kitchen, a space heater, and a bathroom at the same time.
- Breakers that trip, or will not reset
- Dead outlets and switches, including ones that run a whole room
- Lighting, ceiling fans, and dimmers
- Smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms that need a real circuit, not a leftover battery
- GFCI and AFCI devices that trip and will not reset
- Warm outlets, buzzing panels, and lights that dim when a motor starts
What people are worried about
The fear is fire, a shock, or a house that will not pass inspection when it is time to sell. Those are fair worries. They are not a reason to guess. A warm cover plate, a scorched breaker, or a burning smell is a stop-using-that-circuit problem. Call. If you smell burning now, leave the house and call the fire department before you call an electrician.
Older Florida houses sometimes still have aluminum branch-circuit wiring from the 1960s and 1970s. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has a long-standing guide on repairing it, because the hazard is at the connections, not in the idea of aluminum itself. Service-entrance aluminum is normal. Branch aluminum is the one to identify. The guide is CPSC Publication 516 . We look for it. We do not announce it from the curb.
Another fear is work that was done with no permit. A house can carry decades of added circuits that nobody recorded. We will tell you what we can see. We will not certify someone else’s hidden work.
What changes the price
Odin Electric does not publish a trip charge or a repair menu. The owner has not set public prices, and a flat list would be a guess. What changes the number is the time to find the fault, whether a wall or a ceiling has to open, the parts, and whether the panel has a spare space and the capacity for a new circuit.
If the panel is full, rusted, or a brand an insurer has already flagged, the honest answer may be a panel conversation rather than one more breaker. The published national benchmarks for that work are in the panel cost guide . Those figures are not our quote.
How a visit goes
Call or send the estimate form with the city and what stopped working. We schedule a look. You get a written scope before repair work starts. If the job needs a permit, we say which office covers the address. After-hours visits are by arrangement. There is no 24-hour desk, and a weekend storm is not a promise that we are already in the truck.

The same license covers the cities below. None of those pages is a claim that we keep a crew there.
